這門課程以教師講授為主，課堂討論為輔。課程包括對經濟學理論與其應用於健康照護市場的講解，以及針對相關議題之國際文獻的發現做介紹及評論。從未修過經濟學的同學，可由課程前三週的時間，快速研讀個體經濟學的基本理論。同學需於課前研讀指定教材，並參與課程討論。
This is a lecture based class. In-class discussion is also encouraged. This class aims to introduce students the basic economics and its application to health care market as well as encourage students to discuss and criticize the findings to the current literatures in the related areas. For students who did not take microeconomics before could review the basic concepts in microeconomics during the first three weeks of the lecture. Students are required to read the assigned materials before class, and participate in the discussion.
